Every spring, there is a plant fair in Sigulda, which we decided to visit for the first time. We chose the campsite “Lakeside Sigulda” for accommodation because it seemed relatively close to the city. The campsite is located about 800 meters from the northern border of the city, in a small garden town. The garden town seems to be quite a popular place, with a number of private houses built there and construction is still going on in several places.

You can enter the campsite by going down a fairly steep hillside and when you reach the administration building, you can check in. There are about 15 caravan parking spaces, which are equipped with electricity. The fuses on the plugs are decent (16A), which means that there should be no power fluctuations or interruptions even if you connect a larger electrical appliance to the line.

5 caravan sites are right by the lake and the remaining sites are on the right hand side of the territory. The roads and parking lots are paved with gravel and there is no possibility of getting stuck in the car unless you deviate from the paths. There are WC/Shower rooms by the lake and also in the middle of the territory, which are clean and tidy. There are also places for washing dishes and laundry built into both sanitary buildings, so that things can be washed outside the caravan.

There is a water intake point for caravans by the lake, where you can fill up with drinking and domestic water. There is also a well for emptying the toilet and a well for discharging wastewater. There are camping areas all over the territory, but you have to agree with the administrator where you can camp. There is also garden furniture in various places on the territory, which can be used to sit while grilling or just spend time. The nearest shop is about 700 meters away and it is very convenient to cycle there, because cycle paths lead from the settlement to the city.
