Trips in Estonia Very good

“Mändjala Camping” (EST) 23.07.2020

Regarding this post, I shouldn’t have checked in.

I think anyone who has been around a bit will recognize the Mändjala campsite. The reason for coming here was simple – a positive weather map that showed full sun tomorrow.

One interesting observation; since my summer house is quite old, from 1990, when I bought it at the end of May, some things were a bit out of order.

The only other major damage was the plumbing. I decided not to go the usual route and start repairing the low-pressure pipe system built into the summer house, but installed the kind of plumbing that is in every stationary apartment – pipes made of Alupex with outlets at all four corners, plus a boiler drain tap.

I found a pump at Kacher that doesn’t need a booster pump to create pressure, and before connecting it to the system, I also made a tap outlet so that I could wash the car or install an outdoor shower with decent pressure by connecting a small hose.

After that, when I start my pump, it makes a sound like someone is singing “Hard rock hallelujah” and the pumps at all the other summer houses are singing “Why MCA” 😂😂😂

The thing is, during this trip, the 220 V pump only worked in Ignalina and now it has started working normally again in Mändjala. In Palanga, in the already useless Rugum and the Hortus Kempings facility to the north, the current was so fluctuating and weak that now I’m surprised it didn’t burn the pump. I ran around the pump and bled it and tried to adjust it, but there it wasn’t a check valve or anything, it was a voltage problem.

Here’s the moral – if you use high-quality home appliances in your summer cottages, then at the first failure, don’t start looking for errors in your system, but suspect the connection and better turn off the devices from the network or use batteries and an inverter. The miracle is that I didn’t burn my pump there and it started working again with normal voltage.

But that’s not what I wanted to talk about.

That’s it – Arriving at Mändjalga was positive in every way. If you buy something here, you won’t feel the taste of spending bloody money in your mouth.

Daily parking on the beach cost 15 EUR and that included unlimited use of electricity, filling up with water at the beach bar and emptying the waste also at the beach bar. Well, the people offering accommodation also want to earn a little extra with shower tokens….5 minute token 1 EUR – let it be….the place is awesome.

As everyone probably already knows, you can eat at the campsite restaurant here and in the old days there was also a place that rented surfer equipment here. This is my first time here with a summer house and I think it is much more interesting to be here with my trailer than staying in campsites,,,but to each his own of course 🙂

The only negative note is that if you turn left from the beach cafe, to the parking lots, the driveway is quite steep at the beginning. I took my 508 along the edge so as not to scratch the bottom of the car, but it is not a big problem – you can shovel the sand out of the middle if you have to mess up 🙂
