Ready for the new season, without any effort.
The summer house stood in one place all winter, enduring almost half a meter of snow and the severe cold that we had in Southern Estonia this season.
We started this interesting adventure with a caravan the year before last and we can say that we were very satisfied.
To summarize last year, we could say that we came to the conclusion; whoever wants more freedom and fewer problems when traveling with a summer house should travel with a caravan. The positive sides of traveling with a caravan are;
*Freedom after a long parking – you park the caravan and if you want to drive somewhere from your place of stay, you unhook the caravan and go wherever you want and the parking space remains.
*No need to repair or maintain the vehicle (you don’t have a motor vehicle) *Cheaper insurance – no need to insure and comprehensively insure the motor vehicle (you insure your everyday vehicle and caravan)
*Easier refueling – if you run out of gas or water, you can refuel autonomously, without leaving the parking space.
* Complete freedom – if you want to visit the sights, you can go and enjoy without packing everything, by unhooking the trailer.
You can drive freely in cities, where sometimes there may be height and volume restrictions for vehicles.
There are certainly many more positive things that I didn’t immediately think of.
Of the negative things, I could mention that driving a trailer requires greater driving skills than driving a motorhome – reversing and maneuvering are significantly more difficult than driving a motorhome.

In addition, weight restrictions can be mentioned more negatively.
With a regular B permit, you can drive a car train, the total weight of which does not exceed 3500 kg for the vehicle and trailer.
By applying for a BE permit with a small training trip, you can get a permit to drive with a higher total weight, but that’s it.
In conclusion, we can say: as a traveler in a large plane and car throughout Europe, I have discovered a way of traveling for myself that is no less interesting than the style of traveling I used to do before.
In any case, I recommend that everyone try traveling with a caravan or a camper van, and everyone decides for themselves whether they like it or not.
This year we plan to focus more on Ida-Viru County, because the places there are completely undiscovered.
We will definitely take a tour to Lithuania and Latvia if the restrictions are relaxed, and I will tell you about all this in an informative style here 🙂.
PS. If anyone wants to refute my words about the praise of the caravan or praise the advantages of traveling by motorhome, comments are welcome 🙂
