Some Lithuanian friends stopped at this place and invited me to relax there for a couple of days. I decided to go because I have not been to the area around the city of Ignalina, which is near the Belarusian border.

There are many smaller and larger lakes in the area and nature has a lot to say there. I stayed at a tourist farm that is open in the summer, and its main activity is sheep farming.

There are many tourist farms near the city of Lynkmenis that offer different types of accommodation. The place where I stayed charged 15 euros for daily parking, which included electricity, water, waste water disposal, shower and toilet.

Unfortunately, there was no time to walk around, but the locals recommended visiting the nearby national park and of course the city of Ignalina, where there was supposed to be a lot of interesting things to see. I also tried fishing in the lake in the picture, but the catch was quite poor 🙂 .

The locals were also willing to help with buying a fishing permit, as the lake was so remote that I didn’t think it was necessary.

The side roads in Lithuania are relatively poor. I drove a few dozen km after crossing the border to the left to get straight to Lynkmenis and these roads were terribly undulating for almost the entire 120 km. I recommend traveling to Ignalina, if you haven’t been there yet – a good, peaceful place to relax.
